The KTM 200 is a great motor that offers smooth good all around performance for any off road purpose. From casual trail riding to ripping up an off road race, the 200 is at home.
At Cycle Playground, the 200 is one of the most popular motors we mod or tune. They do not require much work as the stock 200 runs pretty good. In the end we improve upon a solid performer to make jetting more consistent, a cleaner burn makes for a longer lasting motor that is more fun to ride. MikeS can add some bottom/mid pull or give it some more mid to top. The 200 was never a hi rpm screamer, even in its’ SX200 days, the design is better suited for a robust all around power. The most popular tuning mod is to enhance the midrange so it carries that “sweet spot” longer and harder.
